Chimper #578
On the morning of the grand plaza unveiling in Waterfall City, Nashimi overheard two guards fretting over a “vulnerable package.” Their mind, ever devoted, immediately pictured assassins and stolen relics. Determined to prove their steadfastness, they shadowed the package’s handler with the grace of a falling boulder. Their first attempt to create a “diversion” involved accidentally releasing a crate of slippery eels onto the main plaza steps. The “vulnerable package” turned out to be the lead architect's prize-winning, exceptionally grumpy toad. In the chaos, it escaped. Nashimi’s pursuit ended with them, specs askew and feather cape dripping with canal water, presenting the sullen amphibian back to its owner. The architect, instead of being angry, just stared at the chaos and then at Nashimi's earnest face. “Well,” they declared to the crowd, “you can’t say they aren’t loyal.”
