Chimper #1376
The Ward of the Shell, the fishers of Waterfall City call them. Shurika was nurtured by Tamago, and for years their world was defined by the tales of caution told from within that primordial armor. Safety was paramount; the world outside was full of sharp edges. But the constant roar of the city's falls was a song of life, promising more than just shelter. One morning, Shurika packed a bag, pulled a bucket hat low to shield their eyes from the vast, open sky, and took the first step onto the city's winding stone stairs alone. They still flinch at crowds and feel a knot in their stomach when they stray too far from the familiar outskirts. Yet with every new path explored, the uneasy feeling is joined by something else: the quiet pride of breathing air Tamago only ever warned them about.
