Ryouun

Ryouun is the most efficient messenger in The Underworld. This isn't due to speed, but a misunderstanding of cosmic scale. During a delivery, they caught Akurai fumbling their powerful amulet. A blast of untamed energy shot out, not granting Ryouun immense strength, but permanently searing their festive face paint onto their skin. Now, the markings glow faintly in the ash-choked air. Soul Chasers see them coming and part like a river. Cultists offer nervous bows. Ryouun once tried to explain it was just a cosmetic accident, but their apologetic smile was misinterpreted as a predator's smirk. They've since stopped trying; the job is just too easy this way.
