Chimper #2383
The boatwrights of Waterfall City have a saying: 'Never judge a current by the calm on the surface.' It is also what they tell newcomers about Mitsunari. Despite the demonic eyes and a complexion suggesting a recent argument with a tombstone, Mitsunari is the city's most fervent poetry enthusiast. Every week, they arrive at the plaza with a tray of perfectly sliced melon, their bowler hat tipped just so. They listen intently, but when they offer critique, their voice echoes with an ancient chill that makes chimps drop their fishing nets. Last week, they called a limerick 'a triumph of mortal verse,' and the author fainted. The week before, their applause was so vigorous one of their fingers flew off and landed in a frog merchantโs tea. Mitsunari just thinks everyone is very serious about art, and canโt wait for the next gathering.
