Chimper #274
Wakehiko did not come to The Great Panda City looking for a cure. They knew the chaotic energy that hummed beneath their skin, a strange echo of Hen'i-tai's affliction, had no remedy. They arrived wearing a kitsune mask, not to trick anyone, but simply to be left alone. With a fishing rod inherited from a life they could no longer recall, they found a quiet spot by the river and just started fishing. Day after day, they cast their line as cherry blossom petals drifted into the water. The locals eventually stopped staring. One afternoon, a young chimp sat beside them and offered a warm dumpling, no questions asked. Wakehiko is still a trainee in the art of living, but now, some days, the gentle tug on their line is the only thing they feel at all.
