The twin lanterns Riruka carries are objects of great speculation in The Dragon Wastelands. Warriors claim they burn with the cold fire of a master strategist, while lost merchants swear the light reveals the safest paths through the fog-choked valleys. In reality, Riruka mostly uses them to avoid tripping over the same scorched dragon bone every morning. The intricate war paint isn't for intimidation; it's a clever, if desperate, method to stop themself from chewing on priceless scrolls during late-night study. Even their famed collaboration with Zenchi is misunderstood. While others believe they help the warrior tame a demonic force, Riruka spends most of their time acting as a long-suffering editor for Zenchi's truly awful poetry. The unamused expression isn't stoicism; it's just the face of someone who wants to finish one chapter without interruption.
