Chimper #3001
The constant roar of the falls is the city's heartbeat, but the clack-clack-clatter of Goshirou's cane on the plaza stones is its laughter. There was a time the sound meant something differentโa stern, measured pace of a guardian inspecting the rock-carved stairs. In their General's suit, Goshirou was a figure of authority, a silent protector of Waterfall City whose wrinkled face rarely broke its serious set. But protection, they learned, is more than just watching for enemies. One afternoon, a young chimper dropped a brightly painted boat into a puddle, then hid when Goshirou approached. In that moment, Goshirou decided to guard joy as fiercely as they guarded walls. These days, their cane is less a weapon and more a toy, used to start races or trace stories in the riverside mud for the city's children.
