Chimper #3244
The guiding lanterns Nizaburou carries are a family heirloom, meant to light the winding stone stairs against the constant mist from the falls. Their warm, steady glow is a symbol of their noble house: reliable, honorable, and a bit old-fashioned. Their sibling, Memina, is none of those things. While Nizaburou ensures the lanterns are polished and fueled, Memina is usually down by the water, making reckless wagers with frog fishers or trying to scale the great fish statue in the plaza. More than once, Nizaburou has had to descend the entire city, feather cape flapping and face burning with embarrassment, to bail Memina out of trouble. Yet, for all the trouble, they never refuse. One sibling is the anchor, the other is the unpredictable tide, and somehow, together, they stay afloat.
