Chimper #3730
Shikika never intended for the visor to actually work. It was a trainee's project, a clumsy attempt to map the energy flows in The Crystal Highlands of Armaria. The senior wizards dismissed it as a toy, a cheap imitation of the sacred sight Horoguramu drew from water. But the flashes of collapsing monoliths and futures tinged raspberry-pink kept coming. They tried to warn a master about a destabilizing crystal, only to be told to focus on their studies. Then the geode-cutter shattered, exactly when and how Shikika had stammered it would. The mages still scoff, but now they listen. Shikika’s expression remains one of shock, not from surprise, but from the weight of seeing a dozen tomorrows at once.
