Chimper #4018
Misaoko was meticulous about maps. They arrived in The Great Panda City to chart the river's oldest, forgotten currents, convinced that patterns in water could predict the city's future. For weeks, they sat by the bamboo-lined banks, fishing rod untouched, poring over scrolls. Then they met a ramen maker whose shop overlooked the water. This vendor knew the river not by charts, but by the taste of the morning mist and the way cherry blossoms fell upon its surface. Misaoko's daily research visits soon became less about the river and more about sharing a bowl of noodles and strawberry milk, listening to stories that weren't written down. One day, Misaoko realized their newest map wasn't of the river, but of the vendor's laughter lines. They put down their scrolls and finally cast a line into the water, content to see what they might catch.
