The Panda Fan Douji carries was not forged in fire, but folded with legendary politeness from the sturdiest bamboo in The Great Panda City. Legend says the Panda Council gave it to Douji as a test: guard the Cherry Blossom Bridge with only this delicate item. Soon, a lumbering, foul-tempered marsh demon stumbled into the city, bellowing threats that made the bamboo shudder. Douji, with their wide, innocent eyes, did not draw a hidden blade. They simply unfurled the fan and created a soft, persistent breeze. It tickled the demon under its arm. Then its nose. The bellowing turned to a snort, then a helpless, earth-shaking guffaw until the beast tumbled into the river. They used their fishing rod to hoist the soggy, much calmer demon out. The gold markings they wear now? A self-applied badge for upholding a warrior’s code through sheer, undeniable cuteness.
