Chimper #4313
"They say Kayuka eats like that to forget what it's like to not eat at all," one Dojo trainee muttered to another. The truth is, they eat to remember what it's like to be alive. Before the fall in that frozen crypt, Kayuka was a hunter of secrets, a grim shadow who treated meals as fuel and nothing more. They died for a cause they can no longer recall. Like the murdered princess Genkei, they were wrenched back into the world of the living. But where Genkei awoke with a thirst for vengeance, Kayuka awoke with a ferocious, bottomless hunger. The first sensation was warmth from a bowl of ramen, and it overwrote everything. Their quest for ancient lore became a quest for the perfect dango. They traded their grim purpose for a salmon on their head, a ridiculous, wonderful flag planted firmly in the land of the living.
