Yonesaburou keeps a small ramen stall in The Heart of the Forest, and their ramen is famously terrible. The broth is watery, the noodles are limp, and more often than not, the bowl ends up on their head before it reaches a customer. Yet, their stall is never empty. The locals know the secret: the food is not the point. You don't pay with coin, you pay with information. A whispered truth about a coming blight is traded for a single mushroom that, when eaten, gives a vision of the safest path out of the woods. A rumor about a rival's weakness earns a bamboo shoot that tastes of victory. The spilt ramen was a genuine accident the first time it happened.
