Chimper #462
Every morning, Takuko walks the path along the river, and the whole of The Great Panda City seems to hold its breath to watch. The guards on the high walls will tell you Takukoโs carved cane is used to test the integrity of the ancient stonework, a quiet, self-appointed duty. Ask the merchants setting up their stalls, and theyโll laugh, swearing the wanderer is simply greeting the river spirits with a polite tap. The children have the best story: they believe the cane can hear the heartbeats of the cherry trees and knows exactly when the next blossom will fall. Takuko never confirms or denies any of it, offering only a playful twitch of their whiskers before continuing on their silent, familiar journey.
