Chimper #4736
Waterfall City is built on a foundation of fishing and trade, yet its highest echelons are filled with strategists and politicians. Hirana moves between these worlds with ease, their white fur a stark contrast to the city's pale stone. The guards atop the falls seek their counsel on matters of state; the boatwrights below share their worries, receiving quiet, insightful advice in return. Everyone assumes they are some retired master, a wandering philosopher whose experience is etched into the lines on their face. They have the patient air of one who has mastered a dozen difficult arts. But every morning, before the sun hits the plaza's great fish statue, Hirana is the first to arrive at the docks for their lessons, the cityโs oldest and most clumsy trainee, still struggling to tie a proper fishermanโs knot.
