The Soul Chasers will tell you Rakua’s facial scar is from a duel with a fire demon over a cursed artifact. The truth is, they tried to toast a marshmallow over a lava pool for Wadachi and tripped. Rakua’s quest for redemption in The Underworld isn't for some grand betrayal, but for a series of well-intentioned disasters, chief among them being an attempt to teach the Cult of Kaze a morale-boosting sea shanty. The resulting riot got them permanently assigned to guard the most boring slosh pit in the realm. Wadachi still brings them snacks, laughing as Rakua uses their ancient sabre to test the puddle depth. They're determined to be a hero, just as soon as they figure out which end of the sword is the pointy one.
