Choujirou

Every morning, the trainees of the Green Bow are meant to gather for archery drills in The Heart of the Forest. And every morning, Choujirou is found by the river instead, a slight smile on their face. They still wear the uniform, but their bow is left leaning against an amber-leaved tree. In their hands is a fishing rod, its line cast not into the water, but into the air. With a practiced flick, the hook snags a honey-mango hanging from a branch on the opposite bank. They reel it in with the patient focus of a master angler. Their trainer claims they are the most undisciplined student they have ever had, but always accepts the fruit Choujirou offers. Some skills are just more useful before breakfast.
