Chimper #2999
Masuka remembers when the only static they heard came from dragonflies skimming the river's surface. Back then, their focus was on the tug of a line and the gentle flow of water through The Heart of the Forest. One afternoon, they found a cracked communication device half-buried in the mud near the wilder outer woods. Curiosity made them fix it. What they overheard—chatter of raids, weaknesses, and targets—froze them. Their home wasn't just happy; it was vulnerable. So they built their own headset, a better one, and became the silent warden of their people's peace. The others see them by the riverbank, lost in thought, and call them 'the Musing.' They don’t realize the silence Masuka stares into is filled with distant whispers and threats. The fishing rod is just an excuse to sit still and listen.
