Chimper #5260
Kyukyu cast their line, not into the river that runs through The Great Panda City, but toward their sparring partner’s gleaming naginata. Laughter rippled through the other trainees in their Green Bow uniforms. They called the fishing rod a toy, a joke. Kyukyu had heard it all before. But patience, learned over years of waiting for a bite in the city’s freezing winds, was a weapon no one else had mastered. When the opponent charged, Kyukyu didn’t block. They flicked their wrist. The hook snagged the tassels on the naginata’s haft, and a sharp tug sent the weapon spinning from their foe’s grasp. Another cast, and the line wrapped around an ankle. The match was over without a single blow. The laughter stopped. Kyukyu just reeled in their line, a familiar grin spreading across their face.
