They were a curiosity, not a competitor. That perception shattered when a shipment of soul-gems, vital for Horoguramu's scrying pools, went missing. While others accused rivals and prepared for the worst, Ushihiko followed the supply chain back to its source. They shared stories, not threats, and discovered a simple clerical error. They returned with the gems and a new, foolproof tracking method. The wizards, impressed, began to request them personally, and a new name echoed through the markets: Ushihiko the Capable.
