Maumi wears the helm of a Soul Chaser, but their greatest challenge in The Great Panda City has been learning the proper way to fold a dumpling. They work for an old panda chef who offered them a job after finding them staring into a river, the trail of a rogue spirit having gone cold weeks ago. The chef, nearly blind, couldn't see the grim sigils on Maumi's armor and only heard a quiet stomach growling. They call Maumi “the Tenacious,” not for their mythical pursuit of the damned, but because they watched Maumi spend an entire night attempting to mimic the perfect flick of a wrist needed to toss noodles, refusing to quit until their arms gave out. The escaped soul is still out there somewhere, but Maumi's intense focus is now reserved for getting the broth just right.
