Chimper #72
The smell of rich pork broth was the only thing that could cut through the freezing winds whipping down the bamboo-lined streets. Utahime had just perfected the salt level when the alley exploded with movement. The great warrior Mesuokami was there, blade drawn against a cackling shadow demon. Startled, Utahime dropped their bowl. The demon, momentarily distracted by the heavenly scent, paused to sniff the air. That pause was all Mesuokami needed. The wolf devotee, utterly serious, declared Utahime's clumsiness a brilliant tactical diversion. Now, Utahime is an official hunting partner, reluctantly trailing Mesuokami while trying to explain that they aren't a warrior; they're a chef. Their greatest battle strategy remains trying to find a spot out of the wind to keep the noodles warm.
